About

Batteries are 40-60% too expensive for broad application in grid energy storage applications (more than a 4 hour duration), and EVs remain cost prohibitive for most of the world. Sodium-ion batteries are a solution to cost, but lack the energy density and/or lifetime for viability. Founded by experienced battery technologists and entrepreneurs, Mana Battery delivers on the promise of the sodium-ion battery with best-in-class cost and performance through a proprietary, safe liquid electrolyte platform and a high energy “anode-free” sodium battery cell design that exceeds the energy density of lithium iron phosphate at half-the-cost. Mana aims to manufacture anode-free sodium battery cells through joint venture for low cost electric vehicles. Along the way, Mana will sell/license its electrolyte formulations to sodium-ion battery cell manufacturers to enable maximum lifetime/safety for state-of-the-art sodium-ion cells.
